This message is from Mara Fox....

Our friend Scotty, Scott Krueger, underwent another
round of tests for a 'stitch in his side' this week,
and today shared the news with me that yesterday he
was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. The cancer
is on both the inside and outside of his lungs. Two
doctors have agreed that he has 6-12 months to live.

Next Friday, they are going to implant a stint to
start further chemo, and the following week the
treatment starts. They are going to dose him once a
week for two months, in an attempt to slow down the
spread of the cancer, though they say there is no
cure.

I asked Scott if he would try looking into alternative
treatments, or come out here to St. Jude's Cancer
Treatment Center, (which claims to have the highest
success rate in the country), but he said he is not
interested. He said, "My card has been punched and I'm
going to accept it". He feels comfortable with the
doctors who have been treating him thus far, and
doesn't see a reason to try anything else.

This comes on the heels of the cancer treatment he has
already been enduring. There was cancer on his tongue
and down his throat - half his tongue was cut out, his
teeth on that side removed, and he has only been able
to take nourishment via a tube in his stomach for the
past several months.

Both of these cancers are linked to smoking, but Scott
never smoked, ever. Both his parents did though, and
he lived with smokers for 30 of his 45 years.

He's asked me to share this news with you, his
friends, and you may pass this along to others who
know him.

What a terrible thing to happen to such a wonderful man.
My heart aches.

You guys, Scott was one of the sweetest guys you could ever want to know. He was one of my "Jett pals" from years and years back.

I hope Scott will let me know if he needs anything - you have a friend right here, Scootalicious!

I have been thinking about "Scoots" all night and then again this morning. I SO feel for this sweet man and his family.
I know there is something better than this life out there and I know Scott's sweet black heart will be feeling nothing but LOVE!!!!

Scott,
Sorry to hear about the hand you've been dealt. I didn't remember you right off, but was reminded by Gregg (Wingnut) that we met you at Chiller in '06. When he said that I remembered. You were trying to find video's of Cherie playing in the Viper Room for us. I remember you were quick with a smile and very helpful and there was a certain playfulness in you when you talked (bantered? LOL) to Cherie and Mara. I hope that the doctors are able to help enough to give you some quality time with your family and friends. Because as we all know those are the things that end up being most precious to us.

Hi Scotty,
I wish I'd gotten to know you better. I've read a lot of your posts, in the archives of this board, and I know you were instrumental in getting it all started, some 7 1/2 years ago. I came along about a year later and by then you weren't posting as often.
I still like to think of you as a friend and that we've shared a lot of good times together here.

I have been feeling heart-broken since I found out what you've been going through. I wish there was something I could say or do to help you, in some way.

My thoughts and prayers. are all I have to offer, I guess, but you definately have those, by the truckload!

Shortly after I discovered Cherie's message board, James Doohan, Scotty from Star Trek, passed away. I posted a piece about how much he was loved in Scotland. In reply to this, you informed me that you had met James Doohan, and on my behalf put a square of tartan on his star on the Walk of Fame on Hollywood Blvd. I was touched by this kind gesture, and am deeply saddened by the news about your health. My thoughts, respect and best wishes are with you always.

Aren't there two RocketMasters? I get confused who is who. And is the "Scotty rocketmaster" this cool guy? Or another "Scotty"?

Either way, that's a horrible diagnosis and feel badly for him.

Yeah Reved,
There are two rocketmasters.
R0CKETMASTER Scotty and rocketmaster Joe.
Scotty uses capitol letters.
Joe uses non-capitol letters.

Joe was around a lot until last year and is the one you are probably better aquainted with.
Scotty was around a lot in the early days and has still posted occasionally since then.

They have both been great members/moderators and friends to the Cherie peeps, on this board!

I hope this clears up the confusion for anyone who didn't realize this.

I was acquainted with Joe rocketmaster only over the Net. Tried calling him once to meet-up while trucking & hit Los Angeles for a couple-days, but guess he was still a couple-hours away with that insane CA traffic!! So ******d with Mara for a lil while. I met the Scotty in the photo at Chiller in 2006, and he was a really great guy. Is the Scotty I met the same Scotty/R0CKETMASTER being discussed? (BTW - the capitol-letter Rocky used numeral-zero instead of the letter-O, correct?)

Yup, R0CKETMASTER is spelled with a zero!
I believe that is the man Reved. Some other folks that were at Chiller '06 said they met him there too!
