If you did'nt enjoy this 1986 Classic from John Hughes then you must be catatonic dude !!!

The most popular kid from a Chicagoland decides he wants to take the day off with his friends Cameron and Sloane in tow....

They convince Cameron to borrow his father's 1961 Ferrari and after that they tour the Sears Tower, Watch a Cubs game, eat pancreas at a Snobbish Eatery after convincing the mincing maitre'd Ferris is a major name Sausage Dealer, Liven up a German American Parade with Ferris doing Twist and Shout, and tour the Hermitage Museum....

All while making a fool out of their **** Retentive Principal Ed Rooney and driving Ferris' insanely jealous sister Jeanie (Jennifer Grey)to some serious anger managment issues

Watch for Kristy Swanson as one of the students in the Economics Class the next time you see this...

UNCLE BUCK

One of the late John Candy's most underrated films with him as an unmarried ne'er do well who is called upon to watch over his brother's kids during a family emergency

Even though Buck is a crude and streetwise fellow, he manages to win the affection of his nephew and nieces including the smart mouthed and rebellious Tia who realizes how much her Uncle really loves her after nearly being date raped by her sleazy boyfriend Bug....

Buck also drives around in a car that even the most hard up for $$$$ college kid would'nt even go near and beats the s**t out of a clown that shows up drunk for nephew Macauley Culkin's Birthday...

Ironically Actress Amy Madigan (Buck's long suffering girlfriend Chanise) and Gaby Hoffman would appear later in the classic Field Of Dreamsand Macauley Culkin's performance would in this film would win him the prime role in HOME ALONE

THE PRODUCERS Not the overated remake but the 1968 Classic Original with Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder who could wipe up the floor with Matthew Broderick...

A down on his luck Broadway producer (Mostel) schemes to make a bundle of cash by overinvesting in a surefire flop called Springtime For Hitler with the help of his nerdy accountant (Wilder)....

They manage to secure the cash after providing romantic favors to little old ladies, Get the rights from the deranged Nazi Vet who still wears his WW2 Helmet,hire a screaming queen of a Gay Director (the scenes in his home will have you wetting your pants in hysterics) and cast a Hippie Songster named LSD to play Der Fuhrer...

Unfortunately the play turns out to be a comedic smash hit and now Mostel and Wilder must figure out a way of the mess...

The first "Naked Gun" movie. The whole movie is nonstop good jokes, and the baseball sequence at the end had me laughing as hard as I've ever done in a theater.

ANIMAL HOUSE is a great film and I had Mark Metcalf (Niedermayer) and Karen Allen (Katie) sign my copy of the DVD as well as Director John Landis...

BTW Mark Metcalf grew up in nearby Westfield, NJ...I also pledged a Frat in College thanks in part to ANIMAL HOUSE and we were considered the Delta's of that campus as well....

PLANES TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES is another great one from John Candy and its a xxxx shame he died young....he had so much more to give...

Loved the scene in UNCLE BUCK where he enters the house where all the kids are partying in search of his niece Tia and tries to act kewl or when he tears that rude School Principal a new one !

Or as the Parole Officer with the type of suit my Dad wore until my Mom mercifully gave it to the Goodwill in THE BLUES BROTHERS

CLERKS 1&2, DOGMA, CHASING AMY, and JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK are some more of my faves

I also met Brian O'Halloran (DANTE), Marilyn Ghigliotti (Veronica), and Jason Mewes (JAY !!!! SCHWIIIING !!!) at Chiller as well and they were all kewl and great people to work with !

By now I'm sure we've all seen the films of Kevin Smith who came to our attention with the low budget Classic CLERKS which takes on the 9 to 5 drudgery experienced by Dante Hicks and his video store accomplice Randall who try to keep sane at their boring jobs...

Or the well placed kick in the rear of Organized Religion in DOGMA which features Jay and Silent Bob and a cast of fallen angels and Religious morons...

Well I consider it a rite of passage....

Great film and one of Candy's best roles.....

The scene where he and Steve Martin attempt to go home in their wrecked car on Thanksgiving Day is a scream

He even plays off Steve Martin very well and I dare you not to tear up in the films final minutes where Martin goes back to the El Station and confronts Candy and then forces him to come to his home for Dinner...

Just goes to prove people from opposite poles can come together under all circumstances ;D

THE BLUES BROTHERS

Great actings, scenes, and music.....

Loved it when they were creating havouc in the snobby Chicago Restaurant and ordering wine from Waiter Pee Wee Herman...Also the chase through Chicago is a scream !

Steven Spielberg cameoes as a Cook County Tax Clerk, Twiggy appears as the Chic Lady who waits for Elwood for a missed tete a tete, and Chaka Khan also appears as a Gospel Singer during James Brown's musical number at the Church....

Great film and I never get tired of watching it !

SILVER STREAK - A comic rendition of THE LADY VANISHES and Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor's start of the best comdedy duo imaginable....

Wilder gets into one comic misadventure after another when he falls for a foxy Jill Clayburgh on a train from LA to Chicago and gets tied up in the murder of her boss...
