Anyway I get back to work and the CDs are all fucked, they were all from Port Philip Library and some had stickers over the discs and booklets, most had the stickers torn off which left tears and even holes in not only the booklets but the discs themselves. So naturally I don't want anythign that fucked up so I took them back on lunch on Monday.

One of the other guys served me and it was SUCH an ordeal for me to return them because "the playing area of the discs aren't scratched". Then he started lecturing me on why that's why they go to the trouble of checking the discs before the sell them and that if you don't check the discs they can only return them if they don't play due ot scratches. Like, I understand his point and everything, but like I said I'm in there nearly every single day and in teh last fortnight alone I've spent almost $200 in their goddamn shop. And still he carries on like I'm some scummy fucking scumbag returning them because I burnt them and no longer need the real discs. So he goes out back to talk to "the boss" and comes back saying he'll return them all bar one. So the one I still have has a torn boolet and whiteout on the actual disc with the library's serial number.

THEN, I had to spend the $27 creditin teh shop right there and then! So I had to get things I wouldn't normally have bought.

As a protest to this shocking behaviour and horrible customer loyalty experience I am boycotting the place for at least two weeks. I don't know how logn I can last without purchasing such sweet sweet bargains. But goddammit I'm gonna try my hardest.

Aimee, is my temper really that uncalled for after reading all that??

It all makes me want to emote a bit of really.

I think the Harry Potter movies keep getting better and darker, cant wait to see the final two in the series. I thought it could have gone a bit longer cause i was really enjoying it, sure they left some things out but it didnt matter cause its in the book. Over all i thought it was the best so far

As for The Simpsons Movie, what can i say besides 18 years too late! I'm glad it only went for 87 minutes because i was bored shitless, i think it was the worst movie ive seen all year (except the Holiday a close second). There was nothing noticably different about it compared to an episode and is definatly not something i would watch over and over again like a good episode of the Simpsons. Sure i laughed a little bit but that is expected as its a comedy and supose to be funny, there was nothing new or orginal about it and will not stand the test of time... The makers of the Simpsons have set out what the aimed to do and that was to become such a cash cow that people would flock to see anything with our favourite yellow family in it. I'm sure i will get shot down for this post but it has to be said.

I had some pretty hefty expectations going in to this film and i wasnt let down.
It had non-stop laughs thanks to some really great gags.
It was technologically superior to any episode ive ever seen, something they couldnt have achieved when the series was at its peak, or 18 years ago for trav.
The plot was certainly original and while bordering on farfetch, was appropriate for the length of the movie. Meaning it wouldve been stupid to try and do it in 30 minutes.
It didnt really have any twists that threw me off and the end was as predictable as barts dick is small. But despite that, i was fully satisfied and would like to give a huge pat on the back to the producers, etc, for pulling it off. It was a monumental effort converting it into a movie and theyve done it superbly.

I'm actually considering going again when Ilan goes to see it.

There was too much expectation for a Simpsons Movie and I think they were bound to fail from the start, 18 years is too late to make a movie.. Had they extended 'who shot Mr Burns' to 90 minutes i would have said well done but they just struggle to put something on the big screen that they hadnt done and cheap laughs like seeing Barts cock is a good example. Adding a bit of polish and making it look sharper than it did on TV is easy and expected, Rugrats for example looked a millon bucks and atleast they added a new charactor or two.

But Trav, I'm not sure what you were exactly expecting of a simpsons movie? If you wanted an epic movie with a great plot you should have just stuck with Harry Potter? I'll admit it's probably a bit late for the simpsons, but it seems to me you had such high expectations for it which could never have been fulfilled..

I thought it was funny. 4/5 beans

and you keep saying they should have made the movie 18 years ago, dude, if they brought the movie out in 1989, it wouldve been shit and there'd have been no market for it back then.

And if they had brought it out during the prime years (94-96?) they wouldnt have been able to do it as well, thats why theyve waited till the last few years to start it up. Because they didnt want to do a half assed job, if they were going to do it, it had to be technologically superior to the show, not just the show but longer.

I've had a gutful of people bagging the new episodes. I'm more than happy to admit that they are nothing compared to the classics. But fuck, tv shows evolve. It can't stay the exact same for nearly 20 years, things change.

The movie was a fantastic effort, i don't know what Trav and Bean were hoping for...

And as for the 'adult' jokes. The dick joke doesn't fall under that category in my opinion, you don't need to be an adult to laugh at that.
And while the bong joke clearly was an 'adult' joke, your complaints about it are ridiculous. Honestly, you guys must'be been going in hoping for an exact replica of an episode from the 90's but an hour longer.

I guess what I am trying to say here about the movie is that it had its moments but all the things I didn't like about it (besides the dick and bong as I mentioned) were the same things I don't like aboutthe new episodes. I'm not saying they should or shouldn't have done certain things, I'm just giving my opinion on the film. And those reasons are why I didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoy the old episodes.
