It's True TV shows do evolve, take South Park for example, it just keeps getting better and better... But the simpsons is not evolving, its devolving.. Its gone from a dinosaur to a shrimp in only a few years!

And i dont know how long they had been working on the film but it had references to some fairly recent movies including 'An Inconvenient Truth', must have been a last minute addition to the script. I'm sure i read somewhere that the script writers wrote it in one night while getting pissed in a bar, atleast thats what it looked like.

And as for waiting for the animation technology to get good enough to make the simpsons movie im pretty sure the disney movies in the late 90's like Aladdin, Beauty & the Beast and the Lion King looked pretty sweet, they didnt seem to have a problem!

NB. Ilan my next feature film will hopefully screen December 2008, it's a remake of the classic 1965 cartoon Roger Ramjet.. Never too late to make a movie of a classic cartoon!

The new episodes suck, there are much better things to watch on television than the simpsons.. The writers clearly have writers block they should just give up and relaunch Futurama, atleast that was fresh the new episodes are so boring, just like the movie!

Is that you again Trav?

Futurama could have been stopped midway through season three. A movie would be no better than the Simpsons one. I don't think it's a matter of 'time' (i.e. 10 seasons then bad) I think it's more just the time period and the different writers that came into it.

Yes, sorry... people keep leaving their computers signed in. Hayley actually thought the movie was ok... unlike me who thought it was yellow vomit and would have to be forced to watch it again... it had nothing on the Sponge Bob Movie!

I was actually speaking to a friend of mine who is a primary school teacher.. and she said that the simpsons are just as big as ever in school. Kids love it.. so maybe it has a bit to do with the fact that we are all getting older and get a bigger kick out of watching the news.. haha

I'm a little over the old Simmos at 6pm but only coz I have seen them a million times and I have other things to be doing than sitting and watching old episodes of the simmos which I have on dvd anyway.

I argue that I the movie was boring because it was boring, I sat there for 87 minutes bored out of my mind.. I was actually looking around to see if anything interesting was going on in the cinema. The part that shit me the most was the attempt at humour in the closing credits, its a little late to put jokes in the credit when the actual film lacked them.

I was actually really looking forward to seeing it... I heard a review about it afterwards and the said 10 year olds would enjoy it but not adults and simpson's fans... maybe thats why the school kids Ilan mentioned love the simmos?
