I'm with Hayles, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story Comedy of the year, 4.5 Beans!

So funny and heaps of side splitting moments and great songs, piss funny I dont wanna spoil it but its one of those movies that doesnt take itself serious but trys to be serious.. if that makes sense.

Anyway go and see it and then download or buy the soundtrack as it is just the best!

haha, itd be a bigger call if he made it at the end of the year as it'd have more movies to compete with bean

anyway bean, i wanted to add to our michael moore discussion from months back...
i recently saw most of Fahrenheit 9/11 and i completely see what you're talking about now with the way he puts his spin, etc.
Having said that, i still think Columbine was great.

Ahh but yeah, sorry. I just did that coz I knew it would annoy you. But I'm glad you do see it my way. I haven't seen that one and have no intentions of doing so. Nor the new one Sicko. I couldn't give a rats arse about the subject matter of either. I liked Columbine's topic.

And in regard to comedy of the year... are you crazy? If he made that claim in December, he'd know what movies had come and gone and also how good they were. Making it at this early stage means he's saying that it's already better than any other comedy that might come out for 2008. Which is ludicrus. Come on Trav, surely you left that .5 bean as a margin for improvement?

Haha yeah george what're you talking about! at the end of the year he knows the competition, this early in the piece however he's making huge claims!!

It's like saying after getting your first ever root "that was the best sex I'll ever have"

cos at the time, sure! but it's just not.

I stand by my words... Dewey Cox will be the funniest movie you will see in 2008.

It just has that feel like when you first saw Borat and knew nothing you saw in 2007 would compete!

I did give it a 4.5 Beans because although i state that it will be the funniest movie of 2008 i would be more than happy if someone made a funnier one and so I will leave it at 4.5 but if nothing beats it by midnight on the 31st December 2008 I will correct it and make it a perfect 5.0 Beans!

And Jordy sometimes you are so confusing that you make my head hurt, I think rooting all those sheep has made you a little dumb!

lol, I loved that movie so much. I remember we watched it at Ben and Haydee's that night I was fucked up, and Jordan and Jarryd were outside smoking and I stayed on the couch as it started, and they were watching me to see my reactions and they were expecting me to screw my face up and hate it. I wasn't big on the first part where he introduces it and shit but once he gets on teh train it's just top notch. I wanna watch it again! Let's have a movie night. Maybe Trav and Jord can wear their mankinis for it too.

Okay so here are a few ratings of movies I've seen recently... I'll start with......

Rambo (the new one)

We saw this a couple of weeks ago now... I'll be giving it 2.5 beans. It was pretty entertaining, not in a "oh man guns are so cool bam bam, explosions, yeah!" kinda way, but just coz I like gore and there was some cool shit going on in it. But as far as it goes as a film.. it was pretty damn average. Like, the storyline didn't have much going for it, and the dialogue... dear lord, the dialogue.......

So yeah it gets a run of the mill 50% rating coz it could go either way I guess.

Pan's Labyrinth

This was one I'd been wanting to see for ages, but had never gotten around to it. Nick got it for me for my birthday last year, but I didn't want to watch it on my tiny TV, so I'd been saving it til I got a better one. And really, we all know that's not going to happen, so on Sunday night I watched it at Jarryd's on the plasma.

Fucking awesome movie, nothing like I was expecting.... it was just heaps more involved than I had thought and very different, and the ending was a big realisation thing for me. Really really good.

5 beans.

THis was some weird Japanese thing... it was pretty full-on in parts but generally pretty hard to follow and not that great. It got a bit better toward the end but I dunno...

Remember at the end of last year when we went and saw I Am Legend and there was much debate over events that happened in the film and in particular the relationship between the male and female zombie thing and the level of their intelligence. Well my Aunty sent me an email with a link to the alternative ending of the film, at first I thought it was some kind pank joke but after starting the film i realised it was real, the alternative 7 minutes of the film and i must say it is actually better than the one we saw at the movies, so please take a look, i found the clip on youtube to make it easier for all to watch, this ending answers more questions about the zombies and a few other twists, completely changes the film for me and most comments think this should have been the proper ending, but i will let you be the judge, enjoy!

It appears the I am legend ending has been removed for copyright crap. I don't feel like looking back through the posts to get how many beans the movie got....anyone remember? I thought it looked pretty good, but since I haven't seen a movie since...hmm..maybe a couple months, I haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

Phew... so after carefully revealing your post one line at a time and safely seeing that there was no giveaways of what happens, I'll say that I have also heard that the alternative ending is much ebtter than the one they used. Maybe when I am at home I'll try and find it. Because now having heard you say that it doesn't just end differently, but it adds more to the story... well, I look forward to it.

Gravy, I Am Legend scored an average of 4.25 beans based on four ratings. If I include Hayley's rating of "2.5 beans (too scary)", then it drops to 3.9 beans.

Kevin & Perry Go Large

This was on TV last Saturday night after the Footy. I was watching it whilst honing my guitar skillz and Jarryd and Jord were laughing at other people's Dream Teams.

Most of you would know I'm a sucker for a good bad movie, but this was, without a doubt, one of THE worst movies I have ever, ever seen.

Every single moment I spent watching I just couldn't help but wonder how something so bad actually got made into a feature film! And then, that it actually got a theatrical release! And then, that a major television network would actually bother to broadcast it!!!!

NO BEANS

I thought about negative beans but zero is fine. No need to throw our rating system into chaos.

I cant believe you hadnt seen it up until now, i remember renting that bitch when it first came out on video and being so fucking disappointed.. So it was fucking funny to flick over the channel the other night to see it on tv, I still cant work out if that character is a really ugly chick playing a guy... Why the fuck Ten would play a shit house movie like that 8 years after it came out is beyond me, surely they could have chucked T2 or even True Lies or just randomly put on Back to the future 2 or 3 in the wrong order as they usually do?

One of the reviews on imdb said that the scene where he was lying in bed with a giant erection was "side-splittingly funny".

I didn't think it was.

Horton Hears A Who!! - One for the best animated films I have seen, the way a Dr Zuess film should be made. Very colourful and the comedy team up of Carell and Carey is hilarious. 5 BEANS
