Last night I went and saw Funny Games. It was really really good. I just watched the trailer now, and it doesn't look as good as it actually was. I saw it not having any idea what it was about, and it turned out to be great. One thing about it, was that there were parts where one of the main kids spoke to the audience, and at first I thought that was fucking shit and ruining the movie. But further into it they use the technique to really fuck with the viewer and that's when I 'got it'... loved it.Unfortunately, I saw it by myself, so I didn't get to have that post-film pow-wow we always engage in, and I really wanted to talk about it!! There was an old bloke in there (old as in he had a walking stick old) and I asked him what he thought.. his response was "Terrible!". I laughed and said "You didn't like it?" to which he replied "Dreaful!". Obviously I wasn't gonna get much conversation outta him!! So as I was leaving the Jam Factory I caught up with another guy who was in there, and asked him about it, and he said "It was pretty full on!" but then his phone rang and I was left to ponder it alone. And, nothing to do with the film, but I was walking back up to the Bookshop afterwards and crosed paths with everyone's favourite insane Swami woman, Raja! She saw me, but I pretended I didn't see her and kept going. I tried to get a photo. Just got her before she went around the corner.

I felt dodge as taking that photo, cos the building on the left there is a parking lot and that's where the dude that takes your ticket sits. He was eyeing me off hardcore. ANYWAY... Funny Games (which was actually a remake of an old Austrian (i think?) film): 4.5/5 beans.

Saw 5I was a big fan of the Saw movies, although started to feel like they were dragging it out a bit. I did like this one better than the last though. 3.5 beans Spoilers below in black (Spolier tags won't work) Well well well... This one really brought things to a close, didn't it? NOT!!! They left it open again damnit!!! I would be very surprised if we didn't see a Saw 6!I liked that it 'answered some questions' from the other films, and explained about what went on and about the guy helping Jigsaw. I got a little confused with the 'flashback' of Jigsaw kidnapping the cop/fbi guy and initially getting him involved.
At the very start of the movie, the cop kills his sisters murderer, but makes it look like a Jigsaw killing. So here I am, thinking we're in the "here and now".. that this killing has happened after all the other murders (and movies) we've watched. We're all thinking 'ooh ahh, this guy has turned crooked'. Then we see Jigsaw's cop accomplice (can't remember his name, let's call him Jigsaw's bitch) get kidnapped by Jigsaw. At this point in time, I didn't realise it was a flashback, and am thinking 'WHAT THE FUCK! JIGSAW'S ALIVE... and god that cop is a dick he didn't recognise Jigsaw". So by this point, I thought Jigsaw was alive and they were going to go on killing sprees together. Then the flashbacks after this confused me even more, as I begin to realise that Jigsaw ISN'T alive (as I initially thought), and that this dude is carrying on his legacy yada yada yada.. Che says he understood it all and realised that Jigsaw kidnapping the cop was a flashback. I don't know if I just wasn't paying enough attention, but did everyone else think that the murder and the beginning was recent and that Jigsaw was still alive?

honestly, the ending made me semi-cringe it was half dull/predictable, and half annoying and lame maybe just lame is the right wordwe liked Forgetting Sarah Marshall i laughed a lot other than that, movies lately have been kinda so-so we still haven't watched that Batman movie i watched Rendition it wasn't bad; good enough to get kind of engrossed in it, despite watching it during the day oh, and i watched 2 Days in Paris 2 Days in Paris @ IMDB I love Adam Goldberg/The Hebrew Hammer, so I was willing to give it a go Unfortunately, Julie Delpy wrote and directed it. It was maybe a 4 out of 10. i watched the whole way through because of Adam. There were too many odd French people in it.
