Have 3 Rauland labeled horns and drivers...I think RH 1800's in real life. 16 ohm.

On 3 little RH bow-tie shaped horns Not like the Emilars, smaller and the shape isn't as pronounced- we used to call these Renkus-Denkus horns.

Most likely late 80's vintage.

I'm thinking $150 for all 3? Can do pics.

If no interest to Fleabay they will go...

Basically- I have no clue what anybody here wants- so anything I think any sort of interest on I'll offer here..some stuff will be free other stuff I need something for.

BTW Renkus- I think his dad also- worked for Altec.

The reason they are Rauland is RH wouldn't open me up, Rauland was hungrier.

Had a bunch of these- we used them and a 12" in small rental traps, and stage monitors...

Could you whip up a list that interested folks could PM you for, or something like that?

I have a minivan- couple times a week I go by and pick up a few things.

Honestly- there is a lot of stuff. It's going to take a long time to work thru it all- only way I can do it is a few pieces a week as they come to light...

It'll be a while before I get to the real old stuff. Front 1500 or so square feet is all 80's and 90's stuff piled hodgepodge.

Back in the back is 70's stuff, and stuff I acquired used in the 70's.

Some of it is little more than recyclable. Usable stuff needs to be sorted out.

Did pull out an apparently OEM pair of 414's. Those look early 70's maybe.

But a list of what's in there? (Shudder)

I don't have many hours to spare on it, and it all has to come down a freight elevator that's more cantankerous than I am...

Probably not many drivers.

We did a deinstall of an auditorium here about ten year back - there are probably 15 pairs of 808/811's. Bad thing- those are owned 50-50 with an ex partner who is pretty money hungry. One of the reason's he is ex.

So I won't have total control of the pricing on those...

Old Guy, any chance you'd have a 9864 Engine buried someplace? I have one, and I'd like to find another.

Understood OG, just remember before you throw anything away, that many times one mans trash is another's treasure.

I'd have to put the probablity as low- that was about the time I got awat from Altec...Altec was becoming more install oriented and I was tour oriented.

There are lots of onesey twoseys.

But I think I would remember an engine...

For those who might be interested.

If anybody wants a full size scan of this sheet, just drop me a PM or email with your email address. Email is probably the better method as my PM box is being a bit tempermental.

Yeah- if you mean one reply to the test post?

Or did you send another? these seem to be about 15" wide, I just estimated with an 11 inch sheet of paper.

Is that the horn you were thinking of?

No, i think the horns i have and was referring to are probably older. The mouth dimensions are more rectangular and maybe a bit smaller, and it has a curved exponential flare.

Could your horns accurately be called "constant directivity"?

The model number is CD196...so I would hazard a yes...

I think $150 is fair for the drivers...horns are free.

$50 doesn't buy much driver these days, that new Selenium is pretty darn good though.

I just brought them home last nite. Will do a continuity check on all 3 before shipping. I can't get much fancier than that at this point.

Very fair!

Replacement phragms usually have to be sourced from an RH dealer, and after buying one there won't be much change left from that same 150. The flip side is that i've never broken one and i promise i have thoroughly thrashed and abused the 1800's on 511's.

I listen to a pair of 1800's almost daily, they're the HF drivers on a pair of PAS duplexes that i use in a casual listening system. I also have another pair on 511's that i rotate in and out of my basement system along with 802G's.

Renkus was a genius in his own rite, the phragm mounting technique he developed for the emilar drivers was a great improvement for in the field replacement, which he took a step further with the SSD's making all electrical connects/disconnects and hardware removal/install external from the diaphragm chamber. No chance of accidentally damaging the phragm with a mounting screw or lead wire. [Thumbs up]

Apologies for the verbosity, i really like these "Altec cousins".

OK you guys asked for junk...

Half a dozen EV SP8's

One pretty nice pair, one so-so, third pair one needs a recone. 40,30, and 20 respectively.

Half a dozen Audio Technica boundary mics...were used for video work..need phantom...

A pair of 414z's but I think they are sold...if not will post...

Some OLD Dolby tape noise reductions- the Pro Rack mount ones...

An Akai stereo reel to reel...prolly late 60's or early 70's. Not the "top of the line" just average.

A c-r-a-p-p-y Kingston guitar circa early '60's. this was the $19.95 guitar you saw hanging at GC Murphy's- selling for half price which makes it a "tenner" guitar. Would make a good clock, not enough mass for firewood.

Oughtta give that Kingston to a kid. That's what they were made for.

Then you can make $100 from his parents for NOT giving him an amp...

I'm not sure there is a kid who has been bad enough to deserve that guitar.
