have an 807 8a going into a box and need to know if the positive lead from the amp goes to L1 or L2. Thanks.

SPEAKER POLARITY HOOK UP!!!


A positive voltage on the "1" terminal produces a compression wave out of the magnetic gap.
Hence, L1 on the woofer would push the cone towards the listener, so you'd connect the positive LF lead to it, the negative to L2.
On the HF compression driver, the diaphragm moves away from the listener when pushed out of the gap, so you'd connect the positive lead to L2, and the negative to L1.


I do hope you meant to say thses hook up leads are comming from a crossover network and not straight from an amp.

Thanks very much, exactly what I needed to know. And yes, a crossover (Eminence pxb2-800)will be used.
