Gretchen Wyler was a heroine in the drive to spotlight animal cruelty and to remind us that we share the planet with many other species. Gretchen founded The Genesis Awards in 1986 and it has become the number one annual awards show for honoring those who dare to spotlight positive and negative treatment of animals. Ms Wyler founded the Ark Trust and that name bodes well for helping to counteract one aspect of the bible that I think was snuck in by the devil, and that is the phrase "dominion over animals".We may be caregivers, caretakers, staulkers, killers, or in awe, of animals, but lets not believe we have an ordained dominion over them. We choose to control animals because it brings us wealth, maybe we can also choose to see all other species as being valuable, except mosquitos.
(but what do I know, maybe without mosquitos some other tragedy would befall the planet that we have no awareness of).
Gretchen Wyler had a memorable career in show business and then went on to do greater good reminding the world that we share the planet with many other species.
