Many of us know each other already, but here is a place where we can all get to know a little about each other.
As time goes on, new people will find this place and want to know more about the people they see posting and share a bit about themselves.
Check out *Introductions* as well. Topics that have over 100 start loading a bit slowly, so it's time to start another.

Just to expand: I've also enjoyed reading Ray Bradbury and the first two or three Alvin Maker books by Orson Scott Card.

Hey Dos, welcome to the board!

run/tackle/hug DJS!!!! Great to see you! Long time no see bud, glad you found us here! Your memorial barstool is still in the PATD.

Cool crazy, I don't tend to reach much scifi, I mostly watch it. But I know some of the others are more into the book end than I

Heh, finally made my way over.

*waves hi to Asis*

Hi there, evveryone. I'm Branflakes, I know Asis and crazy a from another board here at Hostboard.

I'm a fan of Sci-Fi, currently watching Voyager only, though. B5 was gone from regular tv (i don't have cable) before I was able to get into it.

As for books: I tend to read Star Wars ones, any Arthur C. Clarke I find, and I love Ray Bradbury.

Other info about me: 30, lesbian, living in Houston, Tx, work full time, go to school, writing a novel, play flag football, etc, etc.

LOL, just barely these days. Nothing exciting, work tires me out and I have started writing with group stories again. So most of my posts are story posts elsewhere.

Thank you, Lyta. Can't promise I'll be around much, but I like the board.

Asis: now you'll have to tell me where to find those stories. If you're going to read my writing, I have to read yours.

LOL

But you will have to register to read them.

After you register for Crossroads, you should be able to read the ones at
http://www.communityzero.com/triskelion

The character there is a bit more developed.

And I enjoy reading your story Bran! If you want to, feel free to post it at Crossroads as well. They have a article feature there that will probably work well for your story.

Thanks for the info. I went and registered, but I can't get into your story (says it's private).
Guess I'll email admin later.

Thank you very much.
Is this board exclusively Sci-Fi?
I suppose I'm that odd breed that would rather watch it than read it.
Even though I read like a madman.
The last good Sci-Fi book I read was Madeleine L'Engle's A Wrinkle In Time.
It scared the heck out of me as a child and did so again as an adult.
I know it's a kid's book, but it's a great read for both young and old.

Peace,
Trevor

Hi, Treavor.

Watching is OK as well as reading. We still haven't quite figured out why this is on this particular subsection of the Hostboard forum. A lot of us knew each other from other boards that met an untimely (or sometimes well deserved) demise. So we aren't really organized around just reading sci fi books.

Nice to meet you.

This board started as a group of friends who watched a few particular Sci Fi shows on TV and posted together on a few other boards. First Pathfinder, then SciFiSites, later renamed SciFiVine.

Mostly what we do here is hang out and keep in touch with each other. Sometimes we post about SciFi/Fantasy or give each other links to it.

A lot of times we post about other stuff. We ended up in books and I haven't asked to change it because many members had a hard time finding it here and I don't want them to get lost if we move again.

Hi, Polly.
I know what you mean about migrating from other boards.
I've become quite the nomad myself.
I host a board in this same section called:
The Spigot At The End Of The Universe
Currently I'm attempting to start a conversation started re: Frodo's apparent failure at Mount Doom in The Lord of The Rings vol. III - The Return of The King.
Feel free to drop by and comment.
That is of course you're into Tolkien.
Here is the link:

Spigot At The End Of The Universe.

Peace,
Trevor

Would one of the those shows have been The X-Files?
My god.
I was such an X-Phile.
I still am.
I was really bummed the show went out with a whimper.
I'd be glad to be a member of your community if you'll have me.
Feel free to visit my forum if you like discussing Lord of The Rings, reading or writing.

Peace,
Trevor
