Hey... I'm a friend of AsIs's from the Stranger than Paradise board (under the comics section), which is an offshoot of the SiP Forum, which is dedicated to the worship of Strangers in Paradise and the Author/Artist, Terry Moore. *sees AsIs growling, stops plugging*I'm 26, female, mostly straight, involved, I recently moved to Michigan, but that's a long story, I can't for the life of me think of any significant details, but let's just say that I'm usually cranky and irritable, and even though I generally prefer nights, I've actually been seen around during the day, so the rumors about me being a vampire are TOTALLY unfounded. Right now, I'm reading Neil Stephenson's Cryptonomicon, and Mike Resnik's Sanitago, both of which are excellent. I also adore B5, and greatly miss it, I don't watch a lot of TV, but that was one of the shows I made a habit of watching. My current favorite show is "Who's Line Is It, Anyway," which will often have me literally ROFLMAO. Repeatedly. You should try it. It's good excercise. More later, maybe, and nice to meet you guys. I also come from a place far away and not so far away. I live in Maine and work in schools, though I am not a teacher. My interests include all things Trek, B5, reading mysteries, playing with my computer, music (listening and playing), games of all kinds, and traveling to far away places. Who Am I? OH! That's a game somewhere else. Sorry! Got carried away there for a sec. Nice to see old faces and meet new ones.

Here's what I've said about myself at my other cyber home: I live in Rural Ohio on a small Mini-farm. I am 39 years old and some say a "complex woman". I'm sure many of you are either scratching your heads or ducking for cover when I get in one of my more colorful moods ;} I live with two irritating males (husband and son) who seem to delight in raising my blood pressure sky high!
*sigh* Oh what's a warrior babe to do!

Hi, I'm Merle. Wandering sorcerer on the web, lawyer in RL. Don't throw rotten things at me, please!I've been at PF, right before the migration to cybersites. Spent three good years there. Now we're slowly moving here. I enjoy SF, especially B5. Trek I watch, because B5 is over, but I grew up on TOS. And Lost in Space. OK, I'm old. My favorite authors are Tolkien, Donaldson, and Zelazny, in Fantasy, and in that order. Otherwise, I enjoy Steinbeck, Poe, Twain. In movies, I love comedies. Austin Powers makes me laugh so hard I cry. I'm an idiot for Monty Python as well. The Great Race is such an under appreciated movie, but oh so funny! Enjoy the Indiana Jones movies, and Star Wars as well. Well that's me in a nutshell. No, this is me in a nutshell. Help! I'm stuck in this bloody big nutshell! Honestly, what kind of nut has a shell like this? ------------------ "Don't wake me for the end of the world unless it has very good special effects."

From Pathfinder to Popelon, onwards to cyber sites and Hostboard. It's been a long journey! Like to keep in touch with my cyber friends & see what the 'gang' is up to, which is why I am pleased with the opportunity that Hostboard's Zoloco provides. (Thanks AsIs) I have many similar interests such as has been stated by all of you. Culturally and literally I am sci-fi attuned, with a special fondness for Babylon 5. I also believe that John Sheridan is a Chowderhead. Another B-5 observation that I hold is that I miss Mira Furlan. (A lot!) Currently fill in my SciFi quality time with Farscape, Lexx, Andromeda, lots of re-runs, & large doses of Sci-Fi movies. I don't read scifi nearly as much as I had in the past but do enjoy a good read when time allows.

Ooh, I feel like a newbie again - everyone seems to know everyone else and I havem't a clue what people are talking about.Another person from Stranger Than Paradise, here. male, 29, English. Likes music, writing, juggling, games (board and video). Reads non-fiction, mostly. Prefer sci-fi with a defeatist attitude, for want of a better term. The sort of Dark Star /Brazil/ Red Dwarf/ Silent Running type. Science Fiction where things start falling to pieces, really.

...as in TheOne with Margaritas. Most know me as Wizzard, and I started my online community access from IRC rather than B-Boards. I'm just different in that way, I guess. I'm interested in science fiction, including the Star Trek series (all of them, now that Janeway isn't as annoying), Babylon 5, Stargate SG1 and Farscape. Authors include Asimov, Heinlien (sp?), Niven, Vinge, and Bester. Then, there's Clancy and Cussler, too. I live near San Francisco, and work in the communications industry. Outside of work and online tinkering, I like to drive and photography (ask about the flash I have sometime!). Oh, yeah...I watched Star Trek TOS when it was originally aired, too... ------------------ Illegitimus non carborundum est.

Hello everyone. Like PC, I came from PF (lurker there) and moved with everyone to SFS (several nicks before settling on the one I have now), Beyond the Rim, and now here. Although I haven't completely given up SFS, still post under The JMS Speaks board, I am looking for another place to call home. I'm 30 something, female and have one cat named Tinker that I adopted last year. I live near Chicago, Illinois and yes it is getting very cold here. J Interests: I enjoy SCUBA diving when it's warm, biking and jogging. Love most SciFi of which my favorites are Babylon 5, Farscape, Star Wars, and Star Trek.

Nickname: Erythrina, the Red Witch Nick origin: A fascinating novella by author Vernor Vinge. Titled True Names and written in 1983, it foretold the wonderful world of the Internet. Erythrina was a member of an on-line "coven" of hackers, and was one of the most powerful and experienced coven members.
How I got here : A PF -P refugee from quite another angle – ancient history – I posted at the on-line SPQR boards and stayed there til stupidity from said PF -P drove us off. I made sufficient nuisance of myself at another on-line community that I was hired to welcome community members, make avatars, troubleshoot, you name it.
Vital stats: I'll be 45 next March, haven't ever seen aging as a negative thing (perhaps because mental age stays stuck at about 18 and I come from a healthy and long-lived genepool on both sides of the family tree). Happily married, one 15 yr old son, two cats, all living in the geographic centre (and on the sunny side) of the great state of Washington.
Favourite authors: I'll stick to SF because I have such a great book addiction that I'll read anything and everything..... Zelazny, Tolkien, Guy Gavriel Kay, S.R. Donaldson.
Favourite books: LOTR, The Chronicles of Amber, Lord of Light, Tigana
Favourite musicians: Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Grateful Dead, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Buffett, Steely Dan, Enya, Los Lobos, Dire Straits, B.B. King.... it goes on and on. I have a theme song for every occasion.
Favourite (recent) musicals: "Miss Saigon," and --omigod! -- "Les Miz!!"
Favourite (recent) movies: "American Beauty"
Favourite actor/actress: Kevin Spacey, Emma Thompson
Current Job: "Self-unemployed" website and graphics designer and sometime remote Internet community welcome-wagon-type-person.
Ideal Job: Hey, I've got it. There's nothing more fun than doing what I do, with the people I do it with.
Likes: People. I love people. Good times, good conversations, preferably with chocolate. Lots and lots of chocolate.
Dislikes: unpleasant, smelly or boring people. Needless stupidity and cruelty. And I hate liver too.
What I want written on my tombstone: "She made me happy."
