Decision-making procedure: (Discussion thread, no objections) Thread
- Open a discussion/proposal thread.
- After 72 hours if no one has objected to the proposal it goes into effect.
- Otherwise, after 72 hours, create a voting thread dealing with the disputed issues. Try to keep the vote as simple as possible. Yes/No is the ideal.
- Post a notice of the vote to the in-game message board.
- Vote. Votes should include just your vote, and if desired, a short comment. After you have voted, do not post again to a voting thread.
- After 96 hours, close and tally the vote, then post the result. To win, a selection must have a majority of votes. (This does not require a majority of all owners, just a majority of those who voted.)
Added 3/31/05: The purpose of the discussion thread is to find out the various opinions of owners in the league so that the vote can be written appropriately. The vote options should be neither overly open or overly restrictive, but should reflect as best as possible the consensus views of the owners. For example if there's a discussion about loans where the in the discussion has the following characteristics: A. No loans (8 people) B. Only loans of cash (6 people) C. Loans of cash and players (1 person) It is not fair to make the vote options: 1. No loans at all 2. All loans are acceptable Neither is it fair to make the options: 1. Loans of cash. 2. Loans of players and cash. Also inappropriate: 1. No loans. 2. Loans of $10 or less for no more than a week. A discussion starter should inlude his proposed wording in the first thread, but also refine it as the discussion continues based on the opinions expressed in the discussion. At the end of the discussion everyone should be clear on what is being voted on, the arguments for and against, and be comfortable with the wording of the vote.

The league has voted to have a live draft this year using the following procedure:Starting 24 hours after this post the clock starts for the first pick. Each person has 30 hours to make their pick after the person ahead of them makes a legal pick. If a person makes an invalid pick they have the remainder of their 30 hours to make a correction. If a person doesn't make a legal pick within their time limit, they are automatically given the player on the draft list with the lowest number who has not yet been picked. The live draft will conclude immediately when one team in the finals has won 3 games. All remaining picks will be done using the standard in-game method. When setting up your draft list in game, place the player you picked in the first slot -- then fill in the remaining spots with players that were picked ahead of your slot. This will minimize the trading we have to do to fix any errors.
