LEAGUE RULES
created and agreed upon by the GM’s of the league

Placed below will be all the rules agreed upon by all GM’s within the league.

These rules may be such things as the salary cap amount, trains per day but will also include internal league rules that pertain solely to this league alone. Those rules could include the ability to not release certain players on contracts of different amounts or the ability not to keep players on the DL.

Once all rules are posted each GM must post a reply and simple write AGREE. This is your “contract” within the league to show you will with hold the rules and play within the guidelines yourself and the other GM’s agreed upon.

Also any new GM wanting to join the league when a space becomes available will also have to post that they too agree with the rules.

-League Web Site

..................................................................................................
..................................................................................................

LEAGUE RULES
24 DEC 04

BUDGET: 55,000,000 Million
Each GM starting from day one year 1999 will receive 55,000,000 million in their franchise bank account.

TRAINS: 4 per day
Each GM will have the ability to train each player on their roster a maximum of four times per Simgalaxy day.

SALARY: 67,5000,000 Million
Each GM will have a max salary cap of 67,500,000 million.

SERIES LENGTH: 7 game series
Starting from year 1999 all playoff series will be in the format of a seven game series.

DL: 3 players maximum
Each GM will have the ability to place up to three players maximum on their team’s Disabled List.

FA DEADLINE: 50th day
Each GM will have the ability to sign free agents up to day 50 of the season.

TRADE DEADLINE: 50th day
GM will have the ability to trade players from one team to another up to day 50 of the season.

WAIVER: 2 days
Each GM can sign free agents after they have cleared waivers of two days.

ROSTER: 18 players maximum
Each GM will have the ability to keep 18 players maximum on their team’s active roster.

COACHES: 38 coaches
The league will start off with 38 coaches.

TRAINERS: 32 trainers
The league will start off with 32 trainers.

EXCEED CAP: NO
The ability to exceed a teams salary cap of 67,5000,000 million will be turned off at season start. This means at no time will teams be able to go over the salary cap except at season end/start when two draft picks are added to the team. If your team is already at the max of 67.5M the two players will be added to your team and its salary.

This also means GM’s must understand that during trades and free agent signing their team will not be able to exceed the salary cap to ensure the trade or signing goes through. Due to this fact GM’s will have to take more time preparing and working out deals with other teams involving high salary players in trades.

DL STASH: NO
The ability to stash a player that is healthy within the disabled list will always be part of the game due to the code of the game not being able to be changed at the present time. However our league has agreed that this area of the game will be with held on an honor system between all league GM’s.

When a player is injured the GM can place that player on the DL but when the player has become un-injured that GM must also take that player off the DL within a grace period of 2 days. This grace period has become established for a few reasons which are GM’s not noticing their players have become healthy, a GM being out of town or not logging in or giving the GM the ability to work through a trade or drop of a player to make room for the now un-injured player on the DL.

On day zero, one, two or after the grace period of a player becoming un-injured that GM may receive private or public PM’s through the games message system alerting them to the fact that their player is now healthy from other GM’s around the league. This is really the only way we as a group can monitor this part of the game.

RELEASE PLAYERS: CHANGE
Players on a GM’s team roster can only be released if they are on a contract of 0 year. Any contract over 0 years must be up held by the GM of that team until that player retires, is traded or goes from 1 year to 0 year in contract length.

However all draft picks obtained by each team at the start of the season may be released even though they are on 1 year contracts due to the fact that each GM has to take on these two new players regardless if they want them or not so for this reason all GM’s may release draft picks prior to the start of game one of the new season.

PLEASE REMEMBER: This is a league specific rule created by the GM’s of this league. Scott has no control over this situation and what it may bring within the game nor will Scott be monitoring to see if the rule is with held in any way due to the fact the rule is not governed by code within the game.

So each GM is on the honor system especially since each GM has agreed to all rules prior to accepting a team within the league and paying for a full one or four seasons. Please take the time to determine the length of contract you wish to give a player because if you sign a player to a 5 year contract you will be expected to keep it until the player reaches 0 year.

.............................................
.............................................
.............................................

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

REMEMBER All the rules shown above have been voted on and selected by majority from the GM’s of this league. Some rules you may have voted for and some others may have gone a different path than you had hoped however please remember that these rules are not set in stone and can change at any time as long as the GM’s of the league agree.

The majority voted for a seven game series however in 1-3 seasons if everyone dislikes this format and votes to go back to 5 games, then we will.

If the majority wants a higher team salary after every two seasons then it will happen.

If the majority votes that we can release players on contracts of 0 and 1 year then it will happen.

The point I’m trying to make is that not every rule each GM wanted is represented here but that’s no reason to not play or get upset … because there is always the change it could get changed later in time.

Agree

i have only one concern and that is the waivers 2 days is effectively one day because players sign when waivers are at one, just something for people to think about but i agree anyway

KP and I agree.

KP is stuck in Tennessee right now without computer.

One question - why make exception for releases in trades???? let's play NBA and play it out - if you want a trade bad enough to take someone's bad contract - you are stuck with it. It is an awesome bit of strategy
