Everyone is welcome, but beware we will be discussing religion on this board as well as debating or doing anything else that you might want to do. NO PROFANITY IS ALLOWED, however, and we all want to act like good Christians here.

We CAN debate, though. We can seriously talk about anything we want. This is meant for AMERICAN GIRL DOLL FANS, but all topics are allowed. Please put OT in the title, though, so we know if the topic is different.

Children are allowed, but mature content might be discussed on this board. I feel confident that some children are mature enough to handle that. If you are not, you do not have to be here.

Thanks for browsing and joining.

Post anything about AG or Christianity (or both ) that you want.

HAVE FUN!

"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
Romans 10:9-10

Oh, and no personal attacks on members are allowed either. If you disagree about something, you can at least respect the person as a person and Child of God if not his or her views.

Do not do anything that will harm the spiritual health of another member or yourself.

Also: remember I am the only mod, and I cannot be on 24/7 so if someone breaks the rules and I do not do something about it right away, don't assume I'm not going to do anything at all.
I will try to do as little moderating as possible, though, as one of the reasons for this board is a sort of CIVIL and CHRISTIAN free expression.

No, you do not have to be Christian to post on this board, but you do have to respect our rules, many of which are derived from Christianity..i.e. no using the Lord's name in vain.

Another rule: No misquoting the Bible. You may quote it all you like, but please refrence it (i.e.put chapter and verse) and quote it correctly.

Thanks,
Tra

1. No using the Lord's name in vain (either God or Jesus)

2. No swearing

3. No profanity

4. Do not have attacks on one certain person!!! It doesn't matter if they believe different than you.

5. Off-topic threads are allowed. Please put "OT" in the thread though.

Thanks for your cooperation!

Any more I should add??

Here, have a cup of coffee. [Coffee]

Thanks for the summary, Katya. Good idea to have these all in one place.

You forgot:
6. No misquoting the Bible. Put chapter and verse when you quote it.

Thanks,

Just by way of accuracy - "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain" is from the Old Testament - the Ten Commandments - Exodus; quite significantly pre-Christian!

My dolls: Felicity (2002), Kaya (2006), Josefina (2006), Isabel and Neela(GOML), mini Felicity; thinking of Kirsten

Technically, yes. But the Christian God is the same God who created the world. His rules, ways, etc. have always been around.

Welcome to the board.

Do not post anything that may harm the spiritual health of another member is the number one rule here.

Thus no posting links to offensive websites or having offensive, member-bashing signiatures, avatars, profiles, etc.

Thanks!

tra, did you ever hear about editing your posts? On most forums you'd be banned for this thread.

Why should it be a forum rule that we subscribe to your beliefs? Doesn't that defeat the point of a debate? Which is most of what this forum is.
Yes, I am aware that I just said jesus god. It's my and Zozey's catchphrase.

Welcome to the board.

I wish you would accept this. It doesn't make God any less glorious.

The Bible was written by people. People who were probably very wise and close to God. But people aren't all the same, and with a book written over such a long period of time by so many writers, it's no wonder that there are multiple contradictions. But the way people think evolves, which is why the Old Testament says an eye for an eye and Jesus says turn the other cheek.(Explain that one away, why don't you.) The older stuff is more primitive and the newer stuff is more complex. Personally, I disregard all of the bible except for what Jesus taught. I think he was definitely a very wise man, and he must have hit upon something, because what he taught was extremely similiar to what most great teachers, especially Buddha, taught.

How does the Bible not being absolute, concrete truth make a difference?
