Last Sunday, June 7th, tried launching my first homebrewed basement mix of propellant.
After autopsy of the pieces, am not 100% sure what the problem was, but believe it might have been either pushing the igniter ALL the way to the top of the fuel grains (which you do in Aerotech motors, but not in LOKI motors). Or possibly using too much tape to hold the igniter in, causing over-pressurization.
Either that, or the formula I used was somehow improperly made (ie, there was no vacuum degassing), or the addition of Black Copper Oxide for a hopefully "smoky" effect changed the burn characteristics more than expected.
