About as much value as an 8 track tape.
I've still got a shitload of cassettes, even have a player in my truck (that has been used maybe 3 times in 4 years).
I have a bunch of cassette's that I'm going to have to get rid of. mostly it is 80's rock with some southern rock and country mixed it. a little 80's pop. I was just wondering if they had any value or should I just dump them in the garbage and say "so long" as they go away

Well if you liked the music you could always buy a cassette deck to mp3 converter so you could save it all before you tossed it out.
I have used a program called Audiograbber to burn from vinyl to CD. Just run a cable from the cassette player to the input of the sound card or from the head phone jack to the input. Works great but is slow.
Yeaaaaah and platters are worthless too, just like an old car. Just depends on your storage.
put em on ebay, you know there's someone out there who wants em
