    Kindle or Nook?

which one should I get? Leaning towards the Kindle(with 3g), pretty decently priced and a large selection of books.

I've got a Nook. Like it. Not bad for the cost. If cost isn't an issue it's a pretty easy decision, IPad.

    Re: Kindle or Nook?

I want an eReader though, not interested in a tablet, I have a laptop and the apps and such never have excited me - most seem useless to me, fun sure, but not worth paying hundreds of dollars more for.

Every review I've read says the Kindle3 is the best eReader.
-Cheapest for sure - 139-189 and an ad-supported one is supposed to come out May 3rd and it's 114.

    - Cheap books. Most are 10 bucks and under, from best sellers to older books, a lot of them are free also. And Amazon has a huge selection.

-Battery life is by far the best. Up to a month without wifi on and 3 weeks with it, compared to about 8 hours with a Nook.

    - Slimmest and lightest.

My problems with it are : it's not a touchscreen, even though that's not really important. And it doesn't have ePub, which I like. No built in backlight. Though the Kindle4 which is supposed to come out later this year will probably have touch/color and a backlight, but really wanting something now.

None of them have a backlight except ipad. I have ipad and a sony reader pocket edition as I wanted a small one, books are the same price all platforms. The sony you have to hook to PC to get your books on it no wifib it does epub so you can get books from wise public library.

    Re: Kindle or Nook?

I got my Dad a Kindle for Christmas and he loves it!! No problems at all and very easy to use. But, if you wanted to download anything from the library, they only use Nook. At least, the last time I checked. But, they didn't have a big selection anyway.

Huhh? Pretty sure Kindle is the only one(or at least the only few) WITHOUT a backlight, meaning you need to light attachment to read in the dark because of the e-ink technology used. I know for sure the Nooks do, my mother just bought one a few weeks ago.

Neither, didn't you hear Jessee Jackson Jr the other day. The Ipad and all those things are the cause of all economic problems.

Seriously though if cost is not a factor the Motorola Xoom is the way to go the Android based software kicks the others.
