    Check it out here...

    Super-8 Wedding Videographer

I'm just passing on the info, I don't know nor can I vouch for anything related to the job. If you go for it and get it, let us know how it goes.

The link doesn't work anymore, Alex. I find it hard to believe that anyone would go to the expense of filming a wedding on any film format, unless they were making a movie or some other artsy venture.

Weddings being shot with film as a "B source" are on the upsurge.

A filmmaker started the trend several years ago and it is considered one of those al a carte services that the customers pay for above and beyond the actual wedding video.

The filmed portion is however included in the video as either a montage or its own music video.

A reader emailed me asking what B-source meant.

B-Source is complementary shooting that is separate from the main camera. The main camera is usually a video camera so that it can record both an image, and sound, at the same time, and the cost per minute is a LOT less than film.

However, since the audio is being recorded with a video camera, the film camera can be used to "float around" and capture precious moments.

It might be wise to keep the film camera a bit away from the video camera as the sound of the film camera can be picked up by the microphones if the film camera is too close when filming.

Yes, there are some wedding filmmakers keen to use genuine Super-8 footage in their productions. I was answering a post on dvinfo.net this week about it, as the poster was asking what Super-8 camera he should buy.

I still think the Nikon R10 and Canon 1014E are the ones to head for.

I think a smaller, more lightweight compact super-8 camera would have the benefit of if dropped, would not be missed as much as the very high end super-8 cameras.
