Totally amazed with this..

(apologies I can't link as new here..)

I feel completely out of my comfort zone even posting here but I am so in love with the notion of learning to shoot Super 8. This little piece by Gemma Booth has only added to my fixation.
Knowing nothing about where to start, could I please ask for some advice..
If I want to recreate a look something like Gemma has achieved there, what camera should I be looking for? I just don't know where to begin. I am happy to spend up to 1k but obviously the less the better

I can't link as I'm new, but the best starting point is a Canon 310xl (excellent lens and very user friendly), go shoot in daylight with some Kodak Ektachrome 64t and work from there- google both as I can't link, sorry.

Evidently I can't get it to show up as a video here.

However, it does show an amazing amount of confidence in Super-8 filmmaking as it was all shot in one location. Super-8 is a portable medium and sometimes people rely on the ability to shoot several locations to matter more than getting absolute precise results in just one location.
