I am new to 8mm please can someone help???

Hi There!

I am totally new to the world of 8mm and if anyone has the time please can you help me out? I want to buy a camera... I have been checking this site out Super 8 Camera Shop * NIZO * BEAULIEU * BAUER * CANON * ELMO * which looks cool.

I have a low budget and want to film for music videos and just general filming of stuff I get up to... so here are my questions...

Is there a 'standard' 8mm camera that would be good to start out with? Something that is a good price but good quality and has good features?

How easy is it to transfer 8mm into digital format to edit on Final Cut? Does it need to be sent to a processing lab and if so how much does it cost? (UK)

How long does an 8mm film last for at 24fps? Are the films expensive and easy to get hold of?


....erm.... thats it for now I think. I would just like to know what is a good Super 8 camera to start out with.
