Since Movie Stuff is not a Rank transfer, how does it compare?

Isn't it nerve racking sending one of a kind irreplaceable and unrecreatable films via Fed-Ex or UPS?

Moviestuff will do one free transfer for you so you can judge for yourself how it compares. I don't think he will do an entire 50' reel for free. I think he searches your reel for a piece that will show off his system to the best advantage. IMHO that's fair.

By the way, Moviestuff is Roger Evans, producer, writer and director of the super8 feature Jet Benny.

This is the posthouse in Atlanta that I believe cameraguy speaks highly of. Check out the Super-8 page.

Re: Rank Cintel Locations in the United States...

It took me long enough, but I've finally had all of my regular 8mm films transferred to miniDV tapes via Rank Cintel by Film and Video Transfers in Northridge. I transferred not only the films I did myself when I was a kid, mentioned in this thread in 2002, but also over eight hours of footage shot by my late father. I think Film and Video Transfers did a great job. Also, I'm done capturing all of it into a video editing program, and have started posting clips on YouTube.

Thank you Alex, and everybody else.

Thanks for sharing that update, jamworks.

Back in 2002 we were all talking about how great it was editing NLE, but, 7 years later, isn't it really a lot better editing in NLE than back then?

Re: Rank Cintel Locations in the United States...

Absolutely, Alex. And I'm kind of glad I didn't get too involved with NLE back at that time, because the processing power, external hard drives, etc., that I need have only recently become affordable.

    The transfers are here:
