As I write, so this piece continues to expand. I am constantly struck by the many possible directions it can go down and as I get a new idea I decide to explore it to the full. I hope readers will enjoy the latest instalment.
BOARDING SCHOOL QUEEN - Part 5
With just three days to go before the fight with Mhairi MacGregor and her title still on the line, Helen was anxious to find out what her good friend Susan Walkerburn had gleaned from sharing a room with the new girl.

I've got a loose outline for where I'm taking Jon Grey's characters, but the Christmas story I wrote ended differently than I planned as it seemed natural to me which direction the characters themselves were taking it. Thanks for the great comments. With regard to the range of weapons being explored here, I have to confess that most of the inspiration comes from the many great stories that I have read on this site over the years, however the synthesis is clearly my own.
I just hope I can keep the tension from the build-up going when Helen and Mhairi finally meet in combat for Helen's title!

Your work has always been inspirational and was a major factor in encouraging me to write my own stories. I think its amazing how you have assembled such a cast of characters who explore many different rivalries. I'm tempted to see if I can take the Boarding School Queens further and may develop further plots and characters so that the Helen vs Mhairi conclusion although ending a chapter will not be the end of the story.
