The concept of a news series is very fun, but I can't help but just want more! I'd love to see someone tackle those stories in a short story or novella... the two wives that shared the same husband, I would actually buy as a novel.
If you don't mind, I would like to try my hand at one of these news stories!
The "Queen of the Wives" Mass Hysteria, by Sarah the Slayer:
The new year has brought a wave of horror to the town of Bloomington GA, population 5000; as women of the ages 35 and older all turn on each other in acts of vicious sexual violence. According to local authorities, the women were all mothers, in nuclear families. This detail has given a witness from the town to dub the event the "wives war." The very same witness has included a video posting to Youview of a group of women colliding in a grocery store. Other such videos have been made viral, and have even began to appear on major pornographic sites.
A call to the local hospital revealed that nearly every woman fitting this description, no matter race, financial status, or belief has received horrific injury. Almost all injuries received however were not fatal, only visibly shocking. The women's mouths, breasts, behinds, and crotches all seem to be the most damaged, with some light cuts to both the hips and back. This rings true for every woman checked into the hospital. On another note, five local nursing homes report casualties as even elderly women, all mothers with husbands and children, found themselves locked in bitter conflict. Once case even claims a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother all battled each other at a small family get-together.
Nancy Quayle an Yvonne Hardy, reporters from Hound 17 were sent on the scene, but were reportedly rushed to the emergency room after a wreck. Cameraman Dougie Coal reports, "I couldn't believe my eyes, Chief. Those gals were chatting up a storm on the way to that town, but as soon as the line between Bloomington and Franksburg were crossed, they began to... well, they started kissing, man! But, it was so sloppy, wet, and it would have been hot if Yvonne wasn't driving!" Both women are in stable condition, but have been restrained and separated.
The men of the town are rushing to keep order, but violence against the opposite sex is just as common. Men, old and young, who dare try and stop the sexual battles find the enraged women turning on them. Police state "Men, let it happen. You can't stop your wives from... that. Just, call the station, and we'll send a team to try and control these women. Frankly, men, the women are... not being sexual when they attack men. Stay well clear of them, if they begin to fight."
Psychologists and medical doctors are working around the clock to understand this epidemic. No virus or bacteria seems to be the cause, but doctors are not giving up hope in their attempts to find a reason for the outbreak. One Dr. Giorgio Gottsfield, psychologist, claims it is some form of mass hysteria. "It will end soon, I am sure," he begins in his interview with a local news team, "these things happen, like the dancing flue, yet... none so violent or sexual as this."
Despite the Dr. Gottsfield reassurances that an end is in sight, this reporter isn't so sure. People outside of the town are venturing in. Women, thrill seeking mothers, are pouring into the town to see how they fair in the conflict. Officers are attempting to stop the women, but many have been able to find their way in. Muriel Ambrose, 48, mother of five, was one of the only women we could stop to request a statement. She had this to say; "The Queen is out there... and, I think I could be her. She's calling to us, inside all of us. The Queen that was, the Queen that is, the Queen that one of us shall become..." The woman began to mumble about royalty, and its relation to sex, but most was not captured on any recording devices. She ended the statement with a simple "I'm sorry, I... must go. The crown. The crown."
