    Exclamation Helping Hostboard - Contributions

Hi, everyone. This forum has had a few moves over the years, but the place it has been the longest is right here on Hostboard. When I first brought the forum over, Hostboard was rather new and didn't have an abundance of features like some other forum hosts. However, what it lacked in features was made up for in spades by Steve and his team's welcoming and acceptance of our little niche. They have truly embraced us and provided us a place to share in our interests for free.

Over the years, Hostboard has expanded quite a bit, with the most vigorous push forward in tech happening recently. This push has been made possible by the hiring of developers that are working every day to code new features (as well as fix glitches as they appear, as many of you have experienced). The thing, though, is that hiring devs requires money.

Hostboard has asked if the people not only of our community, but who are using the site as a whole, could lend a hand by giving small contributions to help them with their recent hirings. I myself have contributed over the years and will definitely be helping out this time around. I hope that some of you could find it in you to help them out as well. The link is the green Contribute tab above. You can also go here: http://www.hostboard.com/forums/vbdonate.php?do=donate

Thank you for taking the time to read this and an extra thank you to any of you who decide to help Hostboard out.

I can definitely get behind supporting this community. There are a lot of talented authors that post here.

    Is there a suggested donation?

    Re: Helping Hostboard - Contributions

Hi XP! I made a contribution to Hostboard last night, but it does not seem to have shown up in the bar at the top of the page. In fact, the bar is still showing zero contributions. I know this is not your responsibility, but do you know why that would be the case?

    Thanks,

    JB57

Hank the Bobcat - I contributed $10 this time around. In the past, I've also contributed $20. So, I would say maybe $10 to $20.

JB57 - I also contributed. The bar is manually updated, so my guess is Steve hasn't checked his e-mail yet. Hopefully, the bar will go up soon.

Can people not contribute a lower value of even perhaps $1, or would a big part be lost due to costs or something? I mean, perhaps for some people $20 or even $10 might be much, but the can or want to contribute a few bucks?

sffan4e, people can contribute however much they want. I was merely making a suggestion since I was asked. I would never demand a certain amount from anyone.

I didn't felt like it was a demand, and I don't know how the donating process exactly works. But it just wasn't clear if any lower value would be helpful. For example if someone donated 1 dollar, but the service to process this dollar would be $2, than it's counter productive to donate.
