Plans for the rest of the decade

I've been meaning to post this for a while, just never have found the time. A lot has happened in a year, and I'm thankful to a few fellow writers for evoking these changes in me. The biggest change, I'd think, that commissions aside, I've set myself up as a world builder, series creator instead of creating one-off stories.

Derived from that comes, that I can't say much for the rest of the year, it'll be spent with working on my centerpiece and a few installments for an exclusive story I don't publish elsewhere. When next year rolls around, I'll start a completely mainstream series that'll go beyond the decade. I guess others who work alone can attest how time-consuming it is to do extensive research along with, so to say, put it to paper.

The other thing that comes from this is limited time and necessary priorities. I still love to do stories I love to write just for fun, or a request involving something I like to write, but they'll take a backseat. So much in fact, that I won't be able to continue Doth the lady protest too much before next Spring. In place of publishing commissioned stories, I'll write a few spec ones, and I'll be upfront about which will be which.

The key difference between what I do now on Patreon and from what I'll do when that's on hiatus... I'll start a Chinese-centric series. Where the regular thing will be tied to e-book and patronage, this other one will only be tied to early access. Make no mistake, I like a lot of stories others are writing, but as I was watching an examination of 42nd street forever trailer compilations, I was yet again reminded, that if I am to take away the exploitation angle, there's still much to tell about characters who aren't usually portrayed, or if they're more often than not are stereotypes. Wanting to fill that gap (pun intended), I'll try my best to deliver stories for those fans as well, who don't feel being part of the majority (and fan here means fans of this fetish, not mine particularly, not that I would have any).
