Custom Console for 72 Suburban

I am working on designing and building a custom console for my suburban, and am curious if a car stereo cd player can be mounted in a vertical position. I know it may depend on the stereo, so I just may have to look around and find one that is capable. If there isn't any that can be mounted vertical, does anyone know what is the maximum angle that they can be mounted at?

When I put an AM/FM/CD player in my 70, I built an enclosure under the dash at the maximum (for my player) 20 degree angle. This is to keep the cd on the spinner mechanism, but my hand held cd player can be 360 degree, so I'm pretty sure the tech is out there to mount vertically, its just more $.
