    This may help with some past uncertainty about the Altec attenuators.
    Let me know if the link expires. Art.

    Hi Barossi, they are meant for 8 ohm drivers. If you want to use it for 16 ohm
    you can change C-1 value to 3uf for the same results.

    See the Driver Reference link below to see where they were used.
    Mainly last 2 pages. second to last column.

    LOL! I was huntin'-n-peckin' while Art was posting! Summarized from Art's linked reference;

    The 30904 was used with the 411-8A and also the 413-8A in the Barcelona, Granada, Santiago, and the 9846-8A. The 30923 was used in the biamp versions of the afore-mentioned consumer models, as well as the 9846A, B, and BX, the biamp versions of the -8A. All were 8 ohm systems. Their purpose is to attenuate the HF driver when used in conjunction with the less-efficient 411 or 413 "Dynamic Force" LF drivers. The 30904 is also appropriate for any DIY system utilizing the 411 or 413 in conjunction with Altec HF drivers and standard Altec XOs.

    Hi Art,

    Thanks. Can I use the Zobel for the 416-8A? My XO is about 500 Hz.

    Hi Art,

    What kind of caps are those in the 30904 network? I have the same type in an Altec xo that I am using and was wondering if they are electrolytics or not?
    Thanks,
    Steve
