Altec LF!/2

Have a chance to pickup the coffee table subwoofer which I have always wanted. I haven't got a price from the guy yet and am still awaiting pictures. Any idea of what it might be worth? I want it but don't plan on overpaying.

Is it the LF2? I think that's the one with the amp, yes? Nice looking box. I'd like one as well.

They are not bad, not super loud. Will add a lot to a set of bookshelves.

Scarcity plays a role in the value of these.

If the price isn't testing your level of "want", you're getting a deal.

If you think the price is too high, the seller has probably priced it fairly.

Well I found one in Canada which is convenient for me. He is unpacking the unit today and then sending me photos. It was fully functional and in original box so I'm excited. He won't give me a price yet which scares me a bit. It's the full LF1/2 system with amplifier. It has been packed up in a dry place since 1996.

You don't see a lot of these for sale so there isn't a big reference of prices around..Price depending on condition as always, can be all over the place..

A bit of bucket trivia...

Back in the old dragstrip days the unpadded fiberglass helmets were called "brain buckets". Legend had it they were more for the convenience of the cleanup crew.
