    Unhappy

    Drats! My PC just hiccupped while doing an automatic backup, and now all my digital audio files are corrupted, including the backup! When I try to open My Music, all I get is the following garbled text file;

    !#$%^&&*(*()*&%*#$%^&*((

    "Bah Bah Bah, Bah BobRann"

    "You're so vain, you prob'ly think this song is about you"

    "Sorry seems to be the hardest word"

    "Get back, get back, get back to where you once belonged"

    "If you don't like the way I'm livin', you just leave this long-haired, country boy alone"

    "Southern man don't need you around, anyhow"

    "Bah Bah Bah, Bah BobRann"

    !#$%^&&*(*()*&%*#$%^&*((

    Don't know what that's all about, just know I lost over 8GB of good music.... forums

    Guess I'll be stuck listening to those blasted, unreliable, scratchy, old LPs again.....I suppose it's a good thing I didn't throw them all out when I was talked into becoming a digital freak.

    In the future, perhaps you may consider backing up to DVD-ROM or, considering the low cost per density, backing directly up to an external hard disk drive - USB 2.0, IEEE-1394 or even NAS (Network Attached Storage) if you'd like to share your media with others and ethernet-enabled audio equipment.

    That your backups will be lossless is especially nifty.
