WRT to we 555 & wooden horns, it is 100% accurate. My pair of 12a & 13a horns were fitted with the aforementioned drivers.
These were indeed made by the Victor company. They are early, made of fitted lumber, not plywood.

The time line in question mentions NOTHING about 12a and 13a horns. The time line in question refers to the 555w as a wood horn, which i am quite certain it is not.WRT to we 555 & wooden horns, it is 100% accurate.
I would love to see a wood version of this and stand corrected:
