GPA speakers/drivers kind of magnet

I wonder if GPA has the 515 and 288 in alnico and 16Ω impedance!

Yes they do.It's called their "Classic Series" ... The 288 is a 288H and the 515 is a 515C..Bill also makes the Ferrite 515G and the 515-8LF.If you require a different driver you may want to inquire about it..I think Bill can make custom drivers as well.Only he can answer that however (405) 789-0221.

I have one or 2 pairs of A7 and maybe a pair of 816 in afoot and ask you what is the difference between ferrites and alnico, the rumous says alico is to prefer! Just now I have 416-8C and 288-16G in my 816 cabinets, custom made tractrix co 240Hz, T-35 alnico and EV30W ferrites, a delighted coctail.

The front of them is the black door behind the 816 and you can see them if you look carefully.

EV30W ferrites

Strontium ferrite actually.

EV affectionately named the SRO series after the abbreviated chemical formula for strontium ferrite, SrO?6Fe2O3.

Oddly, in some sort of shuffle, Kustom wound up owning the SRO name, which is why later EVM's were called that. The EV DH1012 was originally marketed as Kustom's MF1012. The EV driver came later. That later morphed into the Altec 906 BTW. I suspect Charlie Roy who owned Kustom may have at one point owned some of EV. He had enough power to get Peavey slow shipped when they tried to by EV drivers. Hartley Peavey mentions that in a history post on Peavey's site.

How times have changed.
