From where does the 601/602 - style Altec duplex speakers derive their hi frequencies? I know the 604s have their own HF drivers attached to the back of the speaker, but I don't see that on the 601/602s I've seen pictured. I've never used any of the duplex speakers, so a lot of this is totally foreign to me.

A friend of mine has A pair of 602-D's . Not as efficient as A 604 but close and the 3khz
crossover freq is rather high . Like the 604, You need to listen on axis.. In all, a nice
sounding speaker..........GC
I never understood why the lower priced duplex were constructed the way they were. Seems like with the 3k crossover the Biflex cone would have been a better choice.
Your neighbors called. They like your music.
I am surprised the Lowther geeks never pursued the Biflex series speakers.

Missed a pair of mint 601c's at the local action for 58 a piece... wish I had use for them.

So, I had it all wrong and the bi-flex isn't just a 6" driver with a 15" passive woofer flapping behind it and it actually has two voice coils?
