    I totally agree, no need to goof up a enclosure or a driver frame !! I WILL do this. Now, to view the 828 cabinets and pick out two.

    FWIW, unless you want to be able to swap out 16" frames, better overall to get some old cheap/free beat up 825 plywood cabs that have the original flare bracing and 'skin' them with either 3/8-1/2" no void plywood or MDF to stiffen/pretty them up for painting/veneering and do a bit of selective bracing as required.
