    my "new" little 755e speakers

so I finally got around the building speaker boxes for my 755es. I was using a pair boxes I bought at the thrift for 5 bucks. I used the good old WE design. With 5/8" plywood instead of 1/2" . I got that from an article someone did about the 755s.

JE Labs Arkiv: WE/Altec 755 Part 2 (2 cf box)

So a couple days ago I brought them out and I can't stop listening to them. I mean guitars sound like guitars, horns like horns, pianos like pianos, vocals are just spooky.
i did add a dome tweeter with a 5K high pass filter and an L pad.

Tymphany D19TD-05 3/4" Poly Dome Tweeter

If the 755As sound better. Then they might be worth it.

they have a way of doing that.

    i have 8, 755c, 4 to a flat baffle, 6 feet tall.

    2 feet wide.

lo watt tube amps, j-fet front end.

left room for a polydax/audax tweeter.

    'HD13D34H'

no way to say how much i like these .

    all packed away, for now.

    Very nice!
I mess around with small speakers, too. I have a pair of Fostex full rangers in my small shop. FE108 Sigma driver.
I'd show the speakers but after editing the picture and messing around for 15 minutes, the site is saying the file is still too large.

Back in the day had a bunch of 755a that I pulled from a hotel lobby. I built one box, but essentially it was 4 small bass reflex boxes stacked. So 8 755 in all. Top two had piezos, but wired past L-pads and capped off to run above 10k,which only puts them 6 dB down/octave. Wish I still had it them to add a sub to. Strings and voices were glorious! Best set of speakers for acoustic stuff I have ever heard.
Your neighbors called. They like your music.

Westend just use a photo hosting site like Photobucket,Flickr,Picaso,etc... Copy and Paste the (i mg) codes. You can then post any size photo.

    OK, AB, I'll try again.

Screw it. The Forum's "Insert image" feature doesn't work, even when reduced to 460 x 300 and I don't want to be an HTML editor.

OK we got it. My syntax was wrong with the URL bit. Every other Forum I use has an insert feature where the direct code is used. Not old Hostboard, evidently.

it would only cost you $12.000 for that set set today.

The picture above was taken over a year ago... I've been listening to a single 605B most of the time. This thread reminded me to load the old 2cf boxes and take the 755As for a spin with SE300Bs.
