    Semi Mosely traced the shape of a Fender Stratocaster in reverse to arrive at the shape of his signature electric guitar. He did some other off-the-chart stuff also, like the rather strange Dobro resonator guitars he made while he owned that trademark. I bought one of his Ventures model electrics for $50 in a pawn shop auction in the early 1970s. The current owner has assured me that if he ever parts with it, he will sell it back to me... for $50 even though it is worth a couple grand! Semi's daughter still builds the instruments, both domestically and overseas, with admirable enthusiasm.
