Any suggestions on a bass cab?
    821.

You could delete the top portion that would normally house the 808 or 811 horn.

The horn loading of the 821 will give the system a better natural acoustic balance, and probably hel the 416's better track the dynamics of the 399/805's.

Just my .02................... lotsa room left for varying mileage.

If you decide to go the 820/821 route, I have a pair of 820Cs that I can measure for any dimension you need. Mine are a bit mismatched though, as one was built in 1955 and the other in 1957. There are some interesting construction differences between the two cabinets.

I also converted that 820 cabinet plan into a .pdf and uploaded to the Library. The file format is nice cause you can blow it up without a lot of resolution loss.

    Dropbox - Altec 820 Cabinet plans.pdf
