so i did a looking around last night. and what i saw was, that no one has put up a dime to the operating fund. http://www.hostboard.com/forums/ going thru the stats, it looks like Altec board is in the minority of hostboard traffic. so sheep lickers and cat/tit fighters be darned, i decided to throw a quarter benjamin at it and low and behold this morning were back up. ??? not sure if there was a correlation here but.

This 'begs' the question; do you know if TW pays anything for this forum, etc., or is it funded by ads like most? If so, he would be the one to pay IMNSHO.

It's out of pocket AFAIK.. I personally don't see any ads when viewing the forum.. Do you GM ? I also here that there is going to be another server change in 2 weeks to try and deal with this server too busy crap all the time..

No, and why I asked. I wonder whose responsibility it is to get them, though it's mostly academic since this is a too narrowly focussed forum and have no desire to solicit ads that help support Hostboard in general if many of their other forum titles are truly indicative of their content.

registered members do not see ads, lurkers do. but even still, the revenue is negligable at best. most of the forums i was a member of in the past were on dedicated servers.

Yup that's right guests browsing the forum get all the ads.
