342B amp. work good for guitar head amp?

    for some friends of mine.
It's rated for 35 watts. i'm thinking it would run a pair of 421s pretty well.
A vertical cabinet with the drivers over and under and the amp at the top. I know the 421s are rated for 150 watts. But i just have a gut feeling the pair would be pretty impressive running 4ohm at 35 tube watts.

I tried to give an informative response but the reply could not get through. It may be due to site upgrades currently due.

    Loud enough and 'clean'.

Add guitar input: Altec 342b mic amp mod? | Audiokarma Home Audio Stereo Discussion Forum

Good, that got through. I'll try for the rest of the reply.

Cheaper tubes: AX84.com - The Cooperative Tube Guitar Amp Project

The McIntosh MC 240 amp has output tube sockets wired to take both 7027s or 6l6s. Compare schematics.

Add guitar amp style tone stack the easy way: Joyo Fender, Marshall, & Vox Amplifier Pedals - YouTub

Less than $US40, new on Ebay.

Consider amp + 2 cabs for ease of handling.

    Cheers, Marshall
