From an Altec 605B Duplex, DCR = 12.5 ohms, is it an original Altec diaphragm?

Both diaphragms on my 802Ds have screw terminals and lower DCR, now it all makes sense. Thank you very much!

While swapping diaphragms, I found the 20275 from the 802D to be more midrange oriented while the 34852 had more energy in the high frequencies. This prompted me to post the original query.

That's interesting, as both are essentially the same, just different look. The 20275 is likely to be made before the 80s, and have been the original dia fitted to a 605B

Doesn't the 20275 have an aluminum voice coil vs the copper coil of the 34852?

Probably. I've no idea actually, apart from the design they are both the 16 ohm 1". I can't get to my 604e's with 20275's in to take a look at early 20275, but the spare 20275 I have has a copper vc.

Attached is a picture of my 34852 and 20275. Subjectively, I hear enough difference in sound that I can't use them as a stereo pair.

You can see that this 20275 has an aluminium coil there.
