    You can, though I figured that if you ever go with dual woofers, then you'll ideally need all this net Vb plus a larger horn, so maybe best overall to make the cab one piece with removable horn and woofer baffles and maybe even ones for the side vents for max flexibility. Note too that if just the 604 is installed, then ideally it still needs the offset from the top for smoothest overall response/minimal internal damping same as for the 416 or any other woofer[s].

    You're wanting a lot out of these cabs long term, so this makes the most sense to me. 'Down the road' with a totally removable front [in pieces] baffle you could even switch to sealing off the woofer[s] and using the rest of the cab as a separate subwoofer system for super low 'fill'.

    GM,

    Thank you.
    This is great, I will go with this approach. I can have the woofer baffle, horn section, and side vents removable. It gives lots of flexibility.

    For 604, the offset from the top would be the same as 416? Or, it could be different? I guess it doesn't matter.

    Hi VolvoHertic,

    From your drawing-3, here is the change - all are i.d

    W = 38.5" ( you have this right)
    D1 = 9.75" ( you have this right )
    D2 = 18" ( you have this 25-7/6")
    B = 2.5" (you have this right)

    Still I couldn't attach the image - I think its due to the number of posts.

    Thank you,
    Sri

    The "fill" bit, is that idea a 2.5way.
    Hi Jocelys1, Thank you, its GM's idea. Also, with the flexible design it will be a great cabinet at the end. I am looking forward to it.

    You're welcome!

    Same, and it does matter due to room mode distribution.

    Re: GM-416-8B MLTL Corner Cabinet

    I know what you mean GM, after a 27 year break, I decided to go back to collage and had to start over in the 5th grade in adult education, learn how to turn on these damn computers, retake English and Algebra 101 and learn AutoCAD after losing half of my gray matter. I latched onto the smartest nerd in class, made him my study partner and made him tutor me in the above classes and I taught him all I know about construction and life in general. I even lived in the dorm for two years and acted as the dorm monitor dad.

    How about a 30/60 degree corner speaker?

    srivenkat, my room is a lot like yours-14'x36' and my BR Altec's like it best aimed out of the corners at 30/60 degrees. If I wasn't so lazy, I would like to build these, except they would be about one third of your volume.

    5th grade? Care to elaborate or is this a bit of an exaggeration?

    I wrecked my back and before workman's comp would send me to drafting school, I had to prove I was smarter than a 5th grader. They sent me to adult education classes and I had to redo high school, they start out in 5th grade English and Math and after 6 weeks, I got my second high school degree (GED). They then sent me to the local 2 year collage where I had to pass a semester of English and Business Math (2001).

    After that they sent me to the state trade school where I received a AAS degree in Architectural Drafting and Estimating with a 3.75 grade point average. I would have gotten a 4.0 except the English teachers kept docking me because my stories where too Damn long.

    I put in an average of 60 hours a week to try and keep up with these super smart 18 year olds. It really wasn't that hard since I was no longer trying to get drunk or find a girlfriend. Actually, there where about 5 of use old people there and we all kicked the young'uns butt, but luckily for them the teachers didn't grade on the curve.

    Glad you mentioned this........ This project has had many 'blind alleys', discussing other's builds, etc., over several months and combined with me juggling more 'balls' than my mostly MIA memory can cope with, clean forgot about his room details, so when he said he wanted something similar to Billfort's '45' corner cab, away I went.

    Now looking back at my notes, this is what I'd initially planned back at the beginning because with a floorplan with multiples of 2, it's not much better than a square one, so ideally want to stay in its near-field, so to speak.

    This meant a ~10-12 ft listening distance [LP] from the sound wall, so when he said it was fixed at 17-20 ft, I scrapped it in favor of a 40" wide MLTL to allow the option of dual woofers and when that didn't pass the WAF test, but Billfort's would, I 'campaigned' again for the 40" as not being all that 'room dominating' in a corner.

    At 45 deg, the speakers would be over-toe'd about perfect at ~10 ft, so obviously not at the ~20 ft next acceptable point, so that means what? 22.5 deg included?

    This makes a much bigger cab, so would need to be truncated more to both shrink it and allow same/more positioning flexibility.
