    Altec slide rule calculator

I just won an old fashioned Altec slide rule calculator on ebay. It gives voltage and current for watts or any combination of the three. Pretty cool piece of Altec gear that an audio engineer would have used back in the day. I wound up paying 15.50 plus 2.50 shipping. It started at 12.50, so who was the Altec fan that bid me up at the last minute? You owe me 3 bucks! LOL

    Re: Altec slide rule calculator

That was quick, from OR to NJ in just a couple of days!
Did a quick calculation, using my Mac MC40's at 40W output going into 8 ohms, it would need to output 18 volts at 2.35 Amps. Yup, my new crossovers I'm building is way over specced with the wire gauge. Good to know.
I probably listen at just a few watts, so lets see, 3 watts would need 3V at 1 Amp. Yup, way, way overkill.
