you need to look for a 5 digit number
391 is manufacturer number the last three are date of manufacture.
Opened up one of my 806 from my HeathKit AS101's today. It has an aluminum diaphragm and has the numbers 391527 ink stamped on the aluminum ring. Tried looking it up at GPA site but couldn't find it. Any idea?

Flip the phragm and check on the inside of the VC
Probably made in the 27th week of 1965, with a part number of 20275, if original to the Heath.

These were built in 1971 or 72. I did pull the diaphragms and that was printed on the aluminum ring that mates with the driver. No other set of numbers. They look like Altec diaphragms as they have the same design in the aluminum surrounding the dome, the area that flexes, unlike the aftermarket ones on ebay.

Did you check inside the VC on the throat side of the dia.
The 391 number indicates either 1965 or 1975. What colour are the drivers? Is it an 806A or 806-8A? What is the impedance of the dia?
As in a later Altec Diaphragm.
The actual part number is printed on the inside of the voice coil on the paper.
