If a builder has a brad nailer and uses Titebond III glue, heavy clamping isn't needed. I have more clamps than most woodworkers but can lessen the quantity used by using a brad nailer and temporary cleats to spread out the torque of the clamps. The ubiquitous ratcheting strap can also be used for larger constructions.
