I've long wanted it but it is rare Down-Under. US postage rates are the killer.
Someone just posted an album over on AK in BarterTown called Odyssey, sold by Altec. The only other thing on the front say's "Experience Altec".
I figure it must have some great tunes that were hand picked for our favorite speakers. I'll post more info when it arrives. Couldn't resist for 12 bucks.

Opinion is only as valid as its verifiable supporting evidence.
I 'must have' for 'Altecaholics' [or similar type PA speakers] IMNSHO as they apparently re-EQ'd the songs a bit to highlight the then new 9846 studio monitor's performance capability. The major problem is having a proper set-up that keeps the TT from being modulated by high SPL. I wound up initially cradling it in my arms/lap with a king size bed pillow over it.
Another excellent demo vinyl, though obviously concentrates on a different performance presentation best suited to a night at the opera or 'girl and a guitar': BOSE 901 DEMONSTRATION LP SEALED Mercury demo | #107311822

Loud is Beautiful if it's Clean! As always though, the usual disclaimers apply to this post's contents.

Not familiar with those, but if we're expanding to tones, etc., this is my first one: No Artist - Stereophonic Frequency Test Record at Discogs

Somewhere I have a copy still sealed
Your neighbors called. They like your music.
Old Guy, was this album something they gave away when one purchased a set of speakers? I'm thinking it probably was some kind of promo deal.

It was supplied to Altec dealers who actively sold the consumer hifi lines. IIRC, we could ask for more copies but they were in short supply, much like the speakers - we had a hell of a time getting product to sell. I never saw them in the LP stores for sale, though.
The LP was actually contracted from the A&M label so all the performances were A&M contracted names. It was well-pressed and of excellent quality given that they came out just after the First Oil Crisis of 1974 when all pressing plants had trouble getting vinyl and substituted ground-up LPs from returned stock for new pressings.
We used the Odyssey LP for _lots_ of demos in the store where I worked back then. JBL and Bose also produced LPs in much the same way. They were quite common until the Sheffield LPs came out. Imagine opening a brand new Sheffield LP to demo a compact stereo (all-in-one units for dorm rooms) - it happened!
Hope that adds some insight.
Cheers,
David
