It was kinda an extreme example. I have never actually heard of someone using 515's in their car. Someone on Ak bought a pair of 604's that someone had in a car. He said they didn't "hit" hard enough. Lol

Understood, but it highlights that there's a line to be drawn, especially since against my warnings and a desire to do it just because we could, I went ahead and helped a long gone co-worker replace his '70 Z28 Camaro's rear seats with a 'headphone' stereo pair of 511/802, 416B to the detriment of all. Youth, late night, loud music, booze, fast car plus bridge abutment don't mix well. Worse, he took his GF with him, so pardon me if I sometimes overreact on certain subjects.

LowOhms: "I have, in my A7-800s, 515Bs and re-done ( GPA ) 802Ds, on Emilar EH-500 type horns. I use a VERY custom crossover, DIY, 390 pounds of mass loading per box, and special mil spec wiring internally".

This is a hybrid system - not an Altec A7.

    Thanks.

Opinion is only as valid as its verifiable supporting evidence.
