Altec 620 Cabinets for 604D/C

I'm switching from some 612 cabs to the bigger 620's. How do you like your 606 versus the 620?

I'm switching from some 612 cabs to the bigger 620's. How do you like your 606 versus the 620?

I feel sort of lucky to have two pair! ha..

So far each of the cabinets has it's merits. Of course the 606 is genuine Altec.. but they are not comfortable in most rooms. This is a huge negative for most. The 620 Cabinets are more aesthetically pleasing to the other half (read wife).. and in terms of sound reproduction, well let's say I'm doing a lot of listening to compare and I believe I'm getting better low end out of the 620 cabinet. It could be that the combination of MDF and spikes plus those huge rings I had made to lock the speakers down to the baffle board could all be factors. Whatever the case may be, the 620's are really working out well. I wouldn't part with my 606's either though so, what can I say.

I figure after all my years at the drag strip, I need horn loudspeakers.
Or have I already said that?

I have a Thorens TD165, haven't used it in prob 20 years......

That made me chuckle.. most of us here and in the other hobbies all have the same genetic makeup OR as my wife would say, the same things wrong with us.
