Would be interesting to know what the original use of that amp was. Clearly it's old.

They were made upon order and intended for large concert-halls and stadiums.
Opinion is only as valid as its verifiable supporting evidence.

I agree with a few of the you tube posters, I wouldn't want to be staring at those tubes without some lead filled plate glass between me and them. Which brings to mind a question. Were the cages on most quality power amps designed for more than one reason? Sure on my Mc240 it looks pretty, and it keeps wandering fingers from touching a red hot tube. I wonder would they help in deflecting or blocking any stray X-Rays, Gamma Rays, EMF? If there are any emissions are they so minimal that it really doesn't matter?

I wonder what the bandwidth is on those big tube amps. I know some of the bigger organ tube amps I have run into were not really a full range amp. Some went low but rolled off after about 8khz. It seems like a basically "PA" amp would not need to cover much except the vocal and midrange frequencies.

Good question. I've wondered about that, too.

Hey! This forum is working fine today! Everything loads very quickly and does exactly what you tell it to do. This is great! Has it finally been fixed?

It's my understanding it doubles as a Faraday Cage, but don't recall ever seeing it in writing.
