    Well, I'll admit it - I like the way those look. If something like that is sonically feasible, I'd like to do some fabrication on something similar. And the inherent time delay would be a helpful feature.

    I just don't know if a straight tube would be a bad thing. Any ideas?

    There are trade-offs, particularly if it's a 2-way system and you need to send VHF down that long long axis. Even if you straighten it out, that length and volume of air is going to have measurable effect.

    The basic problem is that air, while a pretty good transmitter of acoustic energy within most of our hearing range, tends to have a damping effect in the highest octave or two.

    Bowtie, I was thinking the same thing. It's one thing if the exit is constantly expanding but a long curved straight tube has got to be detrimental in my mind. These sure as hell are not WE horns nor do they have any of the same tech going on. The WE horns may have very long curves but they are constantly expanding, big difference.
    Me thinks the seller first used them to smoke wacky weed with.
