    Clean Pair

Opinion is only as valid as its verifiable supporting evidence.

    Sold $222.50.

Does the 'H' designation on the horns have any significance?

Just my guess, but i think it quite literally denoted "horn" and was from the earliest days of Altec. H-808, and H-811B are really the only places i ever recall seeing the "H", and i think the 811 was the direct replacement for the 808 in the early 50's, pure guesstimation though.

    Re: Clean Pair

That's not an outrageous selling price for what was originally a matched set.

Does anybody know where the gauche gold-colored horn paint scheme originated? I've seen a couple of specific brands that use the gold color consistently, but is that what made it a necessity?
