Thenewold, we're a community here. Had you posted the asking price, I'm sure you would've gotten multiple responces to help you get a better buying price. But your in the fold now. Check those crossovers out and let's get you cranked up. What amp are you using ?

Hey, thanks!
I'm in between amps now. Having Matt from ToolShed Amps build me a 45 amp. I've got a modified ST70 (diytube mods) as my backup, so running that now.
Have run in the past...Primaluna Prologue premier integrated. A 3watt 6L6 amp. Bottlehead. Peachtree SS amp.
Plan to get the 8's running in their stock config, and then consider my options.

Re: A8 project - Updated
Alright - I'm back with some updates.
I'd replaced the high freq drivers with GPA's 909-16A's a couple months back. Using the original 416-16C (ferrite) low freq drivers.
Still using the stock cabinets.
I've built new crossovers using the N800F schematic, and have run those for a couple weeks.
I'm surprised how good these cabs sound in my space. It's smaller, and I think their limited lf extension works well in this room. My other Klipsch speakers loaded the room. Boomy and too much bass.
That said, I'd like to have new boxes built long term.
I've logged much of this on the blog - The New Old – Ramblings on music and hifi
Note: The site does not generate revenue for me. I am simply sharing details on my experiments.
I'll be posting another update on the crossovers next week.
